Why plan an estate sale when I am still very much alive?
This is a work in progress.

Well, that is a very good question.
What I do know is that it will be too late after I am gone.
None of us know exactly when it is our time to go and hopefully I am not tempting fate.
At the time of writing this page, July 2026, I have been licensed for 57 years since age 19.
I have had every HF rig from Collins, Drake, Kenwood, Icom and then some over the past 57 years.
My homepage will attest to that with pictures.
Over the years I have seen amateur radio operators that I know and those that I don't know become silent keys.
I have seen the vultures descend on the SK's XYL and family members in an attempt to take advantage of their loss at a time of grief.
That is putting it mildly.
So, I decided that I did not want that to happen to my family.
I put together a separate page on my website that would only be activated when I become a SK one day - hopefully that will be far into the future if I am very lucky.
We all collect "stuff" and often the motto is "if one is good, then two are better"
I am guilty of this to a degree but at almost 77 years of age, I really don't need anything more to add to my "stuff" to my final collection.
It is always very difficult for the SK's family to identify equipment, its value or confirm whether or not it is working properly or what if any, modifications or additions have been made to any piece of radio equipment.
My radio gear, my regular tools and my extensive woodworking tools are the last part of my estate planning.
I have created 3 documents.
One is an Excel spreadsheet that lists every piece of equipment with selling price, mods if any and a number starting at 1 and currently at line 141.
Each line contains a piece of equipment, a description, quantity, the selling price and any mods or additions are listed.
I am far from finished, there are still many things to be added which I will do in the days and weeks ahead.
Then, in an OPEN OFFICE document, I have a full color picture of every item for sale, each item with a unique number starting at 1 and up corresponding to the spreadsheet list mentioned above.
That way anyone with zero knowledge of ham equipment can immediately know which item and the price being asked when someone asks.
These are the same pictures that appear in my shack gear is connected and powered.
I have done this since I will not be here to answer any questions at that time.
I have always been an pretty organized person all my life and now, in the twilight of my life, I have prepared a detailed Will, Power of Attorney etc.
It is an obligation to those loved-ones that I will leave behind.
These documents are intended to complete that obligation.
The documents will be displayed on this page as follows:
1) A pictorial layout of the exact current station operating configuration. Good for a potential ham radio operator who decides to buy my home complete with a "QRV" kW SSB and CW HF station which includes all they would need.
2) A pictorial list of all equipment listed in 1) above but not connected to each other.
Each item is numbered and corresponds to the Excel numbering.
3) An Excel spreadsheet that contains everything needed to know about each item with its corresponding reference number and the asking price.
I bought  my house in 2019 from the builder.
It has 5 bedrooms each with it own en-suite full bathroom etc plus plenty of room for my radio gear and my year round, heated woodworking shop.
It also has a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom legal rental suite that has been rented to the same great tenant since 2019.
It is my intention to initially offer the property to a licensed amateur radio operator who would like a fully installed and functional HF station with a 50ft DMX-48HD tower with a HyGain TH-3 mk4, a fan inverted V for 80m and 40m at 60ft and a 132ft EFHW at 40ft, running 1kW.
Of course, as an initial approach, it is my hope to sell to a licensed radio operator.
If that does not happen, the equipment will be sold off piecemeal .
I do not run any equipment above 30Mhz with the exception of a desktop Radio Shack scanner and a handheld Radio Shack scanner.
I use the AI app known as RM Noise that removes all HF band noise and makes any CW or SSB signal sound ls darn close to the quality output of your local FM repeater.
